I applied to work at the Aqua Park because the role was based outdoors, local to where I live and I could cycle to work each day.

My previous role was in Maritime and Shipping, but I love being around the water, mainly fishing and swimming, so it sounded like an interesting job that would add skills to my CV. I gained my Open Water Lifeguard Qualification at Lakeside before the site opened.

My role involved helping to set up the park at the beginning of the day, Lifeguarding, Customer Service and packing down at the end of a shift. They supplied all the training and we got to meet other staff from nearby shops and local businesses who were super friendly and made the experience even more memorable.

It feels great fun to see customers and co-workers smile out on the water.  It’s a great vibe to work in.

We took it in turns during the summer to do all the different jobs, including cleaning duties and sales, which meant everyone got chance to do something different, and the park was in tip top condition with regular maintenance.

The rotas were available on an online app, which made it very easy, alongside a Group chat to ask help if needed.  I would often pick up extra shifts as I really enjoyed working at the Aqua Park.

I hope to be back there next summer and look forward to meeting the team again.

I would highly recommend Aqua Park Lakeside as a job; it rescued my summer 2020. The team were very friendly and you will enjoy many afternoons of cakes and laughter.
