I was attracted to the Aqua Park Rutland because I was looking for a summer job that’s based outside. I came as a customer in summer 2017 and was really impressed with the well-run operation that I saw.
Working in customer service, I had a lot of different things to do, every day was different, with different people to work with or customers to chat to. I made friends with all my colleagues as they were all very like minded.
My rota was shown to me well in advance. On days where I had nothing planned there were often open shifts that I could pick up and work. The rota was easy to use and understand.
I got more than sufficient initial training, during the season I was trained in how to use the tills, which allowed me to pick up more shifts which was great for me.
My confidence increased and I learnt to relax into the role and a routine.
I am back at college now but in October I completed my Open Water Lifeguard course which will allow me to go back next season as both a lifeguard and customer services representative.
