Back in the UK lockdown in March, the thought of spending the 2020 summer indoors had gotten us climbing the walls (let alone the kids!) So we struck up our ideas for how we could rescue summer 2020 for families to enjoy the great outdoors without breaking the rules!

With a limited capacity and staggered launch times, we came up with the Introduction of the Season Pass, this helped break the Groundhog Day routine and gave families a way to continually enjoy the good weather and get the Kids off their devices and games consoles without breaking the bank. For the first time ever, visitors were able to pay a one-off fee for limitless admission to the Aqua Park throughout the summer.

That meant as a season pass holder, you could come to the Aqua Park every day were open this summer, for free!

Aqua Park Group was started by water sports enthusiasts In 2016 at Rutland Water, we wanted to create a place full of joy that would connect families with the open water. We wanted to share the laughs, and the many health benefits of embracing the great outdoors, with people of all ages backgrounds and abilities. For many of our visitors, taking on the Aqua Park challenge will involve them putting on a wetsuit for the first time and taking their first dip into open water. Building confidence in the water in a safe environment has huge benefits and acts as a stepping stone to the world of watersports like Open Water Swimming, Paddleboarding and diving that we also enjoy.

Fast forward to now and this original vision is still at the heart of the Aqua Park Group. Over the years thousands of friends, families, teams and colleagues have taken on our Aqua Parks who have shared a lifetime of laughs on the water with us, helping restore people’s mental health and physical health and boost their wellbeing.

At the Aqua Park Group, everything we do is anchored in our belief in the benefits of getting immersed in open water. You don’t have your phone, there is no technology, you are all just present without distraction.

We know that finding ways to entertain the family throughout the summer can be difficult enough, we are so happy to have been able to offer a platform for families and friends to take to the water as much as they like in 2020. We are more passionate than ever about sharing our activity with people and are looking forward to a full season on the water in 2021.
